Seasonal diseases in pets

Due to hypothermia, they can easily develop adenovirus-2. If you do not take up treatment in time, you can get a lot of complications, including pneumonia. In autumn and winter, pets are susceptible to diseases that are often transmitted by airborne droplets. Their body, like ours, cannot quickly adapt to certain climatic conditions, so the immune system begins to weaken. Hypothermia Pets are more sensitive to frost, as they spend most of their lives in a warm and comfortable home. Decorative breeds and short-haired dogs suffer the most from hypothermia. Hypothermia is accompanied by a number of distinctive symptoms, such as trembling and curling of paws during a walk. The pet may also have a low body temperature (below 37 degrees). In winter and autumn, with strong temperature differences between the room and the street, their body cannot start thermoregulation.  As a result, the occurrence of diseases such as rhinitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis or even pneumonia. Often, the disease can be accompanied by complications that are fraught with dangerous consequences. Large breeds can have joint problems that turn smoothly into arthritis. That is why it is so important to limit the time of walking in the cold season.

Viral diseases Viral diseases pose a great danger to our four-legged friends. Virus particles can enter their bodies through damaged integuments, mucous membranes, digestive tract, etc. The duration of the incubation period can last from two to ten days. We advise you to take timely preventive measures so as not to expose your pet to the risk of infection. The main signs of respiratory diseases are cough, runny nose, fever and lethargy. In such a situation, it is urgently necessary to seek help from a professional veterinary clinic. Frostbite If you notice an unhealthy pallor of the pet's skin after a walk, this is a clear sign of frostbite. After the blood circulation returns to normal, the skin becomes red, peeling appears. If you start a situation, you can provoke the death of tissues and cells. Frostbitten areas recover for a long time – about 2-3 weeks. However, the discomfort will torment the pet much longer.
